Prescriptions

The Prescriptions section covers two related workflows: issuing prescriptions to patients directly from the portal, and responding to prescription requests that patients submit through the platform.

Issued prescriptions are attached to a patient's record and are visible to them from their patient dashboard. The Rx Inbox (incoming prescription requests) is a separate tab that appears for clinics with that feature enabled.

Who can access prescriptions?

Staff with the can_manage_prescriptions permission can issue prescriptions and manage the Rx inbox. Owners and Managers always have access.

Important: This tool is intended as an administrative aid only. All prescriptions must comply with Australian prescribing legislation, PBS guidelines, and RACGP standards. Clinical responsibility remains with the prescribing practitioner.
