Health Fund Cards

Last updated 25 April 2026

The Health Fund Cards tab lets you securely store your private health insurance details so they are always on hand when you visit a clinic.

Adding a card

  1. Go to Dashboard → Documents → Health Fund Cards
  2. Click Add Card
  3. Fill in the required fields:
FieldNotes
Provider namee.g. Medibank, Bupa, HCF
Member numberThe membership number printed on your card
Card holder nameThe name exactly as it appears on the card
ExpiryOptional. Format MM/YY
  1. Optionally mark the card as HICAPS compatible (see below)
  2. Optionally add a photo of the card front and/or back
  3. Click Save Card

Adding a card photo

You can attach an image of your physical card for quick reference at the clinic:

  • Upload from Files — choose an existing photo or scan from your device
  • Take a Photo — use your device camera to capture the card directly

Both the front and back of the card can be stored separately.

HICAPS

HICAPS is a real-time health fund claiming system used by many Australian clinics. If your fund supports it, claims are processed on the spot — you only pay the gap, with no need to submit a claim separately later.

Tick HICAPS compatible when adding your card if your fund participates. Ask your clinic if you are unsure.

Setting a primary card

If you have multiple health fund cards (e.g. one for yourself and one as a family dependant), mark one as primary. The primary card is highlighted and shown first.

  1. Open the card you want to set as primary
  2. Click Set Primary

Removing a card

  1. Find the card in the Health Fund Cards tab
  2. Click the delete icon
  3. Confirm deletion

Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Privacy

Your health fund card details are stored securely and only visible to you. They are not automatically shared with clinics — you control when and how your information is provided.
